Meet the team

Alicia (Owner & Creative Director)
The daughter of a floral designer and caterer, Alicia inherited her mother's passion for crafting idyllic functions. Following this early inspiration, Alicia honed her craft, helping to plan and coordinate nearly three hundred private and corporate events. She combined these experiences with the insight gained from her extensive travels to such diverse locations as Europe, the South Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Middle East found her passion in design and opened her own event planning and design company in 2001.

Here at AK Designs, great events transcend the ordinary and offer us the extraordinary. From inspired weddings to unforgettable corporate gatherings, destination events and magical parties, event designer Alicia Falango has been creating one-of-a-kind experiences for years. Intimately involved in every aspect of event design, coordination and execution, Alicia and the Alicia K Designs team work side-by-side with clients to ensure that each event embodies the distinctive vision, charm and personality of its hosts.

Jessica (Event Planner)
Growing up in the Bay Area gave Jessica the opportunity to begin her explorations around San Francisco at a fairly young age. The sights of the city provided her with endless fascination. She constantly found new ways to appreciate the culture and beauty of the city that surrounded her. Inspired by architectural design, intricate patterns, vibrant color, and fashion trends, Jessica knew she wanted to be part of a world where she could use her creativeness and follow her passion.  Given the chance to intern with several wedding planners while attending San Francisco State University, she quickly realized the career path she wanted to take: wedding planning and design. Jessica was lucky enough to meet the supremely talented Alicia Falango of Alicia K Designs in 2009, when she was hired as a full time event coordinator.  She couldn't be happier working in her dream job, living in a city that inspires her daily, and meeting AK's amazing clients while planning the biggest day of their lives. What's not to love about weddings!

Hazel (Office Manager & Assistant Coordinator)
The transformation of a venue to reflect the personality of each client through design of is what first drew Hazel to the event planning industry. Her first job at a small party/wedding store helped foster this interest-which led her to pursue an internship to gain more experience and knowledge at Alicia K Designs in 2010. This internship solidified Hazel’s belief that event-planning was something she was passionate about after working her first wedding at Kunde Winery in Sonoma.  To supplement the creative aspect of event planning, she majored in business administration at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Now graduated, Hazel has returned to work full time at Alicia K Designs where her business background allows her to serve as office manager for AK Designs. When she is not busy at work, Hazel loves to stay active by playing volleyball or hiking, and of course rooting on her Cal Bears on game days.
